Resumen
The purpose of this project was to implement the 5S methodology in the production area of Supergol Company S.A.S., a company dedicated to the manufacturing of sports and promotional balls. The initial problem identified included disorganization in workstations, accumulation of unnecessary materials, deficiencies in cleaning, and difficulties in locating tools, which negatively affected operational efficiency and employee well-being. To address this situation, seven progressive phases were developed, including an initial diagnosis, staff awareness and training, execution of the five stages of the 5S methodology sort, set in order, shine, standardize, and sustain along with a process of monitoring, feedback, and evaluation of results. The application of the methodology significantly improved order and cleanliness conditions in the production area, optimized the use of resources, and fostered a culture of discipline and shared responsibility. In addition, control indicators were generated to ensure the sustainability of improvements over time. This work demonstrates that the 5S methodology is an effective and low-cost tool to increase productivity, strengthen employee motivation, and contribute to the company’s competitiveness in the manufacturing sector.
