Sistema de información geográfico de alertas tempranas, para la identificación de áreas afectadas de páramos, caso de estudio páramo de Almorzadero, Norte de Santander

Abstract

The high mountainous areas are recognized over the world, because there are many factors that condition the occurrence of "paramo ecosystems", which are very fragile. They are recognized as important water factories, habitats of rich biological diversity, places for recreation, tourism and areas of an important cultural value. The expansion of anthropic activities in these "paramo ecosystems" puts at risk the ecosystemic services that the páramos provide to the nearest towns. Therefore, this project proposed the option of generating a tool that facilitates, in general terms, the protection of the paramos. This tool allows to show through a map generated by means of the process "toolbox" of ArcGis program, the areas where the expansion of the agricultural and livestock border threaten the ecosystemic services in the páramo.
