Resumen
This monograph studies the environmental impact caused by the wastewater discharges that reach the Salitre river basin in Bogotá Colombia and itsself-cleaning capacity, during the time of pre-pandemic, pandemic and post-pandemic. To do this, data on temperature, dissolved oxygen (DO) and biological demand for oxygen (BOD) were obtained, based on the behaviorof the daily environment; the previous data were obtained through the monitoring made by thedistrict secretary of the Environment (SDA) along the water sources of Bogotá. Then those data from then the salitre river were studied. So that at the end of the work there are differentsuggestions, such as the need for a more in-depth study about the new behavior obtained by the OD ofthe Salitre river after the period of confinement in the city of Bogotá. Also, carry outa periodic monitoring of both the water quality and the variation in the flow of the river, especially at the time of stretching, because critical situations of higher temperature and lowerflow may occur, would directly affect water quality, among others.
