Resumen
This research paper analyzes Afrofuturism as a cultural and artistic movement that combines elements of Afro-descendant culture with science fiction and technology, allowing Afro-Colombian communities to reimagine their identity and future. Despite its relevance in other contexts, Afrofuturism in Colombia has been underresearched, highlighting the need to explore its development and cultural impact. Furthermore, a methodological framework is offered for the study of Afrofuturism in the country, including a qualitative analysis of relevant works and artists. Subsequently, the paper proposes the development of an Afrofuturist audiovisual piece that reflects the development of the research and its contribution to the field of communication. Considering Colombia's Afro-Colombian history, Afrofuturism combats discrimination while striving to make Afro-Colombian culture visible and promote ethnic diversity. This movement not only recovers ancestral traditions but also adapts them to the country's current context, making them enduring over time.
