Resumen
This degree work is the product of the need to develop a profile with hollow geometry described in Annex 3 in polyvinyl chloride, which throughout the work will be mentioned with its abbreviation PVC, for the company Eterna S.A for which in his story and in his portfolio there is no extruded profile with these characteristics. In accordance with this, the present work includes the pertinent documentation of the development of the requested profile in the mentioned material, from the initial request of the client to the manufacture and delivery of the same for its respective validation. This work has a theoretical study on the extrusion process and polymers, main topics relevant to the good understanding of the development of the project and that give the necessary concepts for the respective analysis of the results obtained. It begins with an introduction to the extrusion process, metal extrusion and polymer extrusion including a description of the parameters that influence the operation, likewise guidelines are given regarding the design of the dies or extrusion dies, a relevant topic due to geometry. to build. Next, the polymers are described according to the families that include thermoplastics, thermosets or thermosets and elastomers, to give the introduction to the polymer that will be used in the profile to be built, polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Then, materials for the manufacture of the respective tools are described, in such a way that for any reader the qualities of the same and the reason for the selection of the material for the respective construction are visible. Once this theory is finished, the practice and specific development of the objectives of the present work is entered, where supported by the theory seen in the book: Fundamentals of modern manufacturing (Mikell P. Groover, 2007), the equations expressed in Chapter 13: Forming processes for plastics, focused on the reality of the production plant of the company ETERNA S.A, where the feasibility of the project is given, followed by the price of the product, approval, design and manufacture of tooling by a third party, sampling, tuning, delivery of the product to the customer, validation by the customer and relevant documentation for the online production of the profile. Finally, there is a space for the analysis and reflection of conclusions according to the results obtained and a possible future project is expressed to complement the manufacture of the tooling exhibited here.
