Resumen
Edson Sánchez Gracia's work presents an approach to the music of the Colombian Pacific coast, focusing on the Currulao as the main musical form. Throughout the study, the musical structures of the Currulao are analyzed, and interventions are proposed that seek to transform its execution through new approaches. This analysis includes a review of timbral, rhythmic, melodic, and harmonic aspects, as well as the application of concepts such as "open work," urging the evolution of traditional musical proposals.
The work is enriched with a series of arrangement and composition proposals that allow for contemporary adaptations of the currulao, reflecting the constant evolution of music in the social and cultural context of the region. In the end, the author offers a description of musical structures and levels that serve as a basis for future interventions in the genre.
