Resumen
This Internal internship report’s objective was to outline the context, development, and outcomes of relocating the National Protection Unit (UNP) Data Center to the TRIARA Data Center in Bogotá - TIER IV facility. The process involved transferring the infrastructure from its original location at UNP headquarters (Carrera 63 No. 14-97, Bogotá) while adhering to best practices and international standards for data centers. (National Protection Unit - UNP, 2024). UNP Data Center is highly critical due to the sensitivity of its equipment, information security needs, and reliance on a robust electrical system. The relocation required meticulous planning and thorough documentation of the current operational environment. Including inventory validation of servers, cooling systems, storage systems, network equipment, and security components. Energy is the backbone of data centers, ensuring uninterrupted IT operations even during power outages. Electrical reliability is essential to prevent data loss, which could directly impact users. For UNP, this risk extends to the safety of individuals under protection. Where a power failure could result in severe consequences. Including potential loss of life. This project underscores the importance of optimizing electrical systems by selecting a data center that complies with both, current national standards and international electrical regulations.
