Resumen
This research analyzed one of the problems that faces the environment at our present times: light or photo pollution. Nevertheless, this kind of pollution is less known even though it affect us silently. The purpose of this research belongs to a pedagogical work with very young children that aims to promote environmental awareness from early childhood, with special emphasis in the problem of light pollution. The significance of this work lies in the fact that the actual natural sciences curriculum guidance proposed by the MEN (Ministerio de Educación Nacional) is based on a science and technology only approach that leaves aside environmental education. Throughout this work a series of pedagogical interventions will be set out and each of them allows to recognize and question the children’s ideas about their environment. From there a process of environmental awareness begins, identifying light pollution as a problem that not only affects our immediate surroundings and represents an energy expenditure but concerns us directly. However, in this work the children are not objects that would be analyzed. On the contrary, they are regarded as active and participating subjects of their own teaching-learning process, since they, from their experiences and ways to interact with the world, promote the place to identify and question his own ideas about known and experienced situations regarding pollution.
