Resumen
Climate change is a phenomenon that impacts all inhabitants of the planet, generating uncertainty due to projections related to greenhouse gas emissions. Although the greenhouse effect is essential to maintain adequate temperatures for life, its intensification puts the balance of the planet at risk. In the agricultural field, climate change can have severe consequences on crops, especially in vulnerable areas such as rural areas of Colombia, where farmers already face challenges such as poverty and lack of basic services. This research focuses on the municipality of San Sebastián de Mariquita, known for its agricultural vocation, especially in cocoa production. Through three methodological phases, the challenges that climate change presents for cocoa cultivation and the need to implement adaptation measures are identified. The results indicate an increase in temperature that could compromise the profitability of the crop, so it is urgent to develop strategies that allow cocoa farmers to adapt and maintain their production.
