Resumen
Since the societies and cultures exist, the music has been an integral piece of our identity, but not only the music has built that identity, also the sounds around us, and we take them like ours. Carnival's Pieces, is a musical creation for big band which uses the street band’s music and the soundscape of Pasto’s black and white carnival parade as a compositional source. This work creates a fusion with jazz and Nariño’s folklore which aims to be a picture of the soundscape that people feels in the carnival parades what is compound by the crowd chaos, the parades noise and the street band’s music that sounds almost at the same time. For this project an investigation was made about Pasto’s musical tradition, and how in a globalized world like ours, we can make musical fusions that create a rich miscegenation that shows us the world’s cultures. This work also analyzes the fact of there is not an ideal world to for listening to music without an external noise pollution, inasmuch all around us make a sonic construction even if it is not consciously listened; this occurs in a carnival’s parade in which is listened the street band we have in front, but, in a less conscientious level there is the street bands resound, the car’s engines or the people enjoying the revels. This is how through the music this work counts a little about the sonic identity of the people of Nariño and the emotional and social build which compound it.
