Resumen
The generation of electrical energy with conventional sources such as coal-fired thermal plants causes negative effects on the health of the community and plant workers; in the environment such as air pollution, water by the derivatives of the generation process as well as the diversion of river beds as raw material thereof, in turn the CO2 emissions that cause global warming, from the point From a social point of view, the surrounding communities are affected in times of drought by the low tributaries of the rivers necessary for the development of economic activities. As of the enactment of Law 1715 of 2014, the mechanisms and benefits for individuals and companies that were interested in the development of electricity generation projects with non-conventional renewable energies were established, being the starting point for the increase gradual development of projects of this nature in the country contributing to the energy transition and the reduction of CO2 emissions agreed in the Paris agreements by the government. Taking into account the above and the technical potential of the Department of La Guajira for the installation of a generation system with non-conventional renewable energies and the existence of a thermal plant, the economic technical study of a photovoltaic generation system with the least impacts is proposed. and that it contributes to mitigating the adverse effects identified for the thermal plants in La Guajira.
