Resumen
The objective of this study is to carry out an analysis of the behavior of the P Wave by means of the Intervalic Speed parameter and the effect of noise on it, using the seismic of the well located in an area of the Colombian Eastern Plains seeking to improve the interaction of the signal-noise in the quality of exclusively on the VSP seismic images. In this context, the importance of the quality of the information obtained through these processes makes it possible to significantly increase the findings of hydrocarbon units. In search of it, the present project focused on developing an adaptation of the Toolbox velocity tool developed in the Matlab Software to the characteristics of the terrain of the study area. This adjustment occurs both at the level of the code programming and at the setting of the parameters of the study area. Allowing to obtain graphs of the different speeds of the P Wave such as, Instant, Average, RMS and Intervalic. Thanks to that it was possible to determine that the noise has a negative impact on the determination and analysis of speed, which affects its use for the determination of the seismic image. On the other hand, it is expected that this work can serve as a basis for the development of new tools for exploration and seismic analysis, as well as complementary to the findings made here.
