Tolivirtual: Herbario Geográfico de la Universidad del Tolima Empleando Servicios en la Nube

Abstract

Based on the importance of the availability of the information of updated geographic data of an ecosystem as vulnerable as the tropical dry forest, the implementation of Tolivirtual was necessary. Due to the lack of a suitable web tool that allows to easily access the data of the physical collection of the Toli Herbarium of the University of Tolima, it is pertinent to have a site in which both employees of the institution and students and other interested users can Find useful and relevant information. This document compiles the entire process carried out to implement a geographic viewer oriented to the web and the services in the cloud to arrange the botanical samples collected and stored in the herbarium, thus facilitating the process of storage and consultation of the different species and Families available for the dry forest. To carry out the Tolivirtual design, a SCRUM methodology was used, and it was integrated with the services in the cloud: Fusion Tables and Google Maps
