Resumen
The management of the risk associated with biomechanical risk factors is usually framed in the ergonomics programs through which it is sought to prevent exposure and the onset of musculo skeletal disorders (MSD) that generate high costs in companies and in the General System of Labor Risks. Objective: The ergonomics program focused on biomechanical risk in a company of the floriculture sector was evaluated. Methodology: The structure, process and results of the program were evaluated through the application of an instrument based on resolution 1111 of 2017 of the Colombian’s Labor Ministry, of a perception survey applied to workers in the production area. The result of the program was also evaluated by comparing the indicators of incidence, prevalence and absenteeism before and after its implementation. Results: The program has a development of 75%, can be improved in aspects such as communication since only 39% have knowledge of its development, can also implement the objective evaluation of exposure to biomechanical risk factors. The prevalence of MSD in the company in 2017 was 26%, the workers with more seniority in the development of their functions have the highest prevalence and the highest proportions of absenteeism. Conclusions: the program presents opportunities for improvement. Recommendations are provide to strengthen the components that require it in order to control exposure and prevent the emergence of new cases of DME and its impact on company absenteeism.
