Diseño e implementación de un sistema de información geográfica en línea para el atlas lingüístico-etnográfico de Colombia, su manual y suplemento

Abstract

Taking into account the importance of use technology in the construction of tools that enable better management and dissemination of the information contained in the linguistic-ethnographic Atlas of Colombia (ALEC), elaborated by the Caro and Cuervo Institute. This project had the aim to design and development of a system of a Geographic information Systems (GIS) on the web, that allows the organization, storage, analysis, handling and consultation of the six volumes of the ALEC, and its manual supplement based on new technologies of the geo-spatial information. This document presents the results of the thesis project, involving the modeling of a spatial database for the organization of digitized data of the ALEC and its consolidation in a web GIS, to facilitate the activities of indexing, classification and search for the use of the geo-linguistic data. In the same way, the GIS enables new types of spatial analysis and visualization in the area of the dialectometry, based on geographical and sociolinguistic data and, conservation, access and dissemination of the ALEC.
