Resumen
The research displays the topic of body placing it inside the current configuration of monstrous body around two categories: biological monster and artificial monster located in Bogotá, Colombia, from living experiences of five research's participants through a corporal and socio-cultural exploration since a corporal mapping proposed by the researcher. Some nominations were taken into account due to their pejorative character as the words monster, grotesque, weird, misshapen or abject, with the purpose of affirm, argument or find the recreation- recontextualization of these from people who have suffered them, as a way to present a historical stablished and living truth about the concept of monstrous body, and how these corporeities raise different ways to exist that are not identifiable with this category but how they get to separarate its pejorative character.
The research is based on a qualitative approach, because it allows to deppen the experiences and subjectivity of people. The researcher has not a full control of what he observes, giving a proccess of co-construction among the parts understanding the meanings and particular practices; besides it recognizes the social and affective positions of people over the constructed reality, which allows to get out of the homogenizing bias, finding other alternatives to subject universalization through particularities that each one generates inside corporeity. It is stablished etnography as the research design, not to transcribe the every day practices, beliefs, rituals, social or cultural aspects, etc, but to find out the margins and breakups of cultural models and reality significance. These last suffer a transformation during the research thanks to the voices of participants, own experiences, contexts analysis and a reflexion process that take subjectivity as a source of knowledge, as well as it let the researcher go in depth the world of participants through the research instruments: semi-structured interviews, field journals, self-biographies and the audiovisual creation to understand the so-called "monstrous" body and give answer to the question raised.
