Abstract

This work is of particular importance as it focuses on designing and implementing a standard technical guide for oversight in the maintenance of the Bogotá – Paz del Río railway line. The aim is to address the recurring issues identified in the technical processes currently applied or underway in the railway line's maintenance.Throughout the research, the team worked on mapping regulations and standard norms for railway maintenance at both national and international levels, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement. A diagnosis of the deficiencies in the oversight processes was also carried out, highlighting issues such as the lack of predictive technologies, inconsistencies in data collection, and insufficient technical capacities of the personnel in charge. The main output of the work is a proposal for a practical guide, which compiles procedures and standard formats aimed at improving the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of the railway infrastructure. The study concludes that incorporating advanced technologies, standardizing processes, and increasing investment will enhance maintenance management and extend the lifespan of the railway line.
