Apoyo a la formulación de estrategias que permitan el seguimiento y cumplimiento del programa Hospital Verde y Saludable en la Fundación Homi Hospital de la Misericordia

Abstract

The project was executed in three phases, welcoming each one of the objectives, the first phase includes the review and update of the environmental diagnosis of the HOMI Foundation, in order to identify environmental aspects related to water consumption, solid waste management , chemical substances and environmental education that are developed within each functional unit of Hospital la Misericordia. This was carried out through the execution of checklists, for which a descriptive approach was applied, making a qualitative and quantitative research method in the different functional units of the hospital.

For the second phase, the main impacts were identified and a valuation matrix was created, based on which a baseline was generated to establish the strategies and indicators that could contribute to the most critical points and thus contribute to environmental management programs . Likewise, alternatives proposed and approved by management in the first year of participation in the global network of green and healthy hospitals were valued, these strategies are aimed at the saving and efficient use of water, handling of discharges and integral management of solid waste. However it is clarified that most of them are approved but without immediate implementation.

Finally, a compilation of the captured information was carried out, generating a matrix that synthesizes and identifies the state of the functional units; being the starting point for the identification of weaknesses and strengths at the environmental level in the institution. The strategies proposed through the document are aimed at improving the performance of the objectives agreed with the global network of green and healthy hospitals, helping to improve the environmental performance of the HOMI foundation.
