Resumen
The curves intensity-duration-frequency (IDF) are measurement standards rainfall intensity mathematically related duration and frequency of these curves are .These union representative points of the average rainfall intensity intervals different duration for all of them at the same frequency or return period. (1) The intensity is defined as the volume of precipitation in height per unit time and is expressed as (I = P / Td) EC.1 (2), where P = Print rainwater (mm) and Td = Time (hours ); the duration is defined as the time between the beginning and the end of the precipitation event considered. The frequency is regarded as the measure of probability of occurrence of an event will be equaled or exceeded at least once a year, it expressed in terms of return period. The duration and intensity curves often look give information about the behavior of rainfall in a specified period of approximate return, this information serves several edafolicos meteorological and hydrological purposes and for proper design of various civil works like construction of highways sewerage and aqueducts among others.
