Resumen
This document shows the review carried out on the state of electronic commerce in the Colombian forestry sector, which was based on the consolidation of information regarding companies engaged in commercial activities related to the forestry sector, a search for information was carried out in the World Wide Web about the platforms or websites of these companies, as well as their presence on marketplace platforms; In addition, companies were classified into two main categories, corresponding to the Wood Industry and Silviculture, which in turn have 9 and 8 subcategories respectively, these relate the main themes under which a great variety of products and services are offered by part of the companies in the sector. The Wood Industry category presented a total of 2,220 companies, of which 328 have domains, 28 have a subscription to a marketplace and 921 have a presence on social networks; While the Silviculture category presented a total of 2,062 companies, of which 509 have domains, 16 have a marketplace subscription and 964 have a presence on social networks. The main marketplace platforms identified were Elija Madera Legal, Red Forestal, Procolombia, Colombia Compra lo Nuestro, Packaging Catalog, among others; the social networks identified were Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Linkedin. Subsequently, the analysis of the electronic commerce platforms implemented by some of the most representative companies nationwide was carried out using the Similar Web and Alexa tools; Also, the main forest use marketplaces in the country are presented and compared with some of the most important internationally. The review carried out presents multiple aspects that determine the state of the forest sector in electronic commerce, among which are: Lack of knowledge, little adaptability, low participation, low schooling rates, lack of institutional support, difficulty in accessing the Internet , informality in the sector and low levels of training in internet sales; In addition, some parameters are recommended regarding the use of electronic commerce platforms, among these are: taking advantage of free services on the web, continuous updating, efficient training, logistics management and greater adaptability, all around the identification of electronic commerce. as an alternative to specify the sale of timber and non-timber forest products, which must be taken into account by companies in the sector, institutions and communities to promote economic development and generate higher levels of competitiveness in the forest products market.
