Análisis, diseño y desarrollo de un almacén de datos para la evaluación y análisis de la planta profesoral bajo el modelo de acreditación institucional en la Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas

Abstract

With new access to data on the teacher intellectual production by of the implementation of the information management system, KYRON, the need to satisfy the information requirements on the intellectual production of the professional plant of the University that requests the model of institutional accreditation, as well as the inadequacy of a data source oriented to the mass information, in an quickly and structured, that is part of the central data warehouse of the university, the objective of this work is to implement a DATAMART, which allows to solve the information needs previously stated. In order to carry out this implementation, the guidelines for Ralph Kimball´s data construction methodology have been followed, from planning to testing the dimensional model, using the technologies and standards managed by the institution. Using the Talend tool, the ETL system has been designed and implemented to load data from Datamart. Finally, it is evidenced by the use of the BI tool (Business Intelligence) SpagoBi, which the chart-type reports generated from the Datamart data, generates the knowledge that allows to solve the information needs by 85%. For the rest of the knowledge an additional data source is required to KYRON.
