Resumen
This work presents the investigative pedagogical practice "Pedagogy of encountering: a bet for the formation of historical awareness in the traditional dance process of the Mesetas Meta municipality" that sought to contribute to the construction of individual and cultural identity of the region from the recovery and appropriation of the memory of the territory and the creation in traditional dance to jointly find elements that would allow dancers to give historical meaning to their dance practice and from this perspective will enhance the traditional dance process of the house of culture of that municipality. The construction of pedagogical knowledge that is developed in this proposal is based on the pedagogies of re-existence (Albán), critical pedagogy (McLaren), within the framework of action research that allowed a broad characterization of the territory, using knowledge of the social sciences and their disciplines in the analysis, reflection and understanding of historical memory, cultural values, symbolic and traditional elements that configure the identity of the subjects of the practice and the cultural identity of the region, which is why this is an ethical and political bet .
