This work aims to establish guidelines for the implementation of digital repositories of musical archives focused on preservation, with an emphasis on preserving the various formats used in musical creation. The guidelines are developed from the disciplinary perspective of archival science, with the goal of facilitating consultation and information access for any user interested in exploring this subject in greater depth. These repositories are expected not only to ensure long-term preservation, but also to serve as effective tools for the use, dissemination, and access to musical heritage and its diverse documentary formats. During the research process, digital guidelines were characterized as a tool for the preservation of musical documents. Additionally, a comparative analysis of different storage formats—both digital and analog—was carried out using a matrix that evaluated key preservation aspects across four different repositories
