Resumen
Power relationships are present in all social contexts, and classrooms are not the exception. In this context, teachers and students should have a proper interaction in aid of student's learning. But, because of the effort to get control, the members might bear some situations such as dropping out, lack of respect and teacher's discomfort, which have repercussions on learning and teaching processes. This project emerged from the idea of creating a teaching tool that deals with power relationships in the classroom, as is a bilingual primer which will handle conflicts inside the classroom among the participants, in an interdisciplinary learning process at schools in store for a suitable educational environment. The action research guided the data collection and analysis of the teacher-student and student-student interaction patterns; the inquiry was carried out in five schools around Bogotá to get students and teachers’ perceptions about power in the classroom, some of the collection data instruments consisted on polls and surveys to 15 teachers from different disciplines and 10 students. Where the first findings evidenced disruption in the school coexistence. On the other hand, during the researches’ primary and secondary practicum, the primer was created taking into consideration journeys, classes observations and own experiences in the classrooms. The study has evidenced how strengthening students voices and conidering teacher’s challenges enhance respect and acceptance. We expect that through this primer, teachers of many disciplines know manners to cope with power relations and reflect it on their professional experiences and relationships.
