Transcripción y análisis de las obras Melodía del río, Siboney y Tres lindas cubanas, del álbum Introducing… Rubén González

Abstract

This degree work analyzes the pianistic resources of Rubén González in the works Melodía del Río, Siboney and Tres Lindas Cubanas from the album Introducing... Rubén González. The research combines an interpretative approach with a detailed musical analysis, including transcriptions and study of rhythmic patterns, harmonies and ornamentations characteristic of González style. The methodology is qualitative, based on the analysis of recordings and the performance of selected pieces. González's music is contextualized within the Afro-Caribbean genres (danzón, son and bolero), explaining fundamental concepts such as clave and Cuban rhythmic patterns. In addition, a biographical sketch of the pianist is presented, highlighting his career in groups such as the Buena Vista Social Club and his influence on traditional Cuban music. The main objective is to identify and apply González pianistic resources in his own interpretation. This work not only enriches the knowledge about the piano in Cuban music, but also serves as pedagogical material for musicians interested in these genres.
