Abstract

In this research, we address the differences between the genres of popular music known as rock, pop and their fusions, the importance of separating these genres from musical modernization and folk genres that have been erroneously taken as "the new rock from Colombia". The thesis proposes a new instrument for listening and classifying music called "logical listening" which aims to make musicians, cultural agents, managers and in general people working in the construction of public cultural policies or create spaces of circulation , Diffusion and musical recognition to classify the projects in an appropriate way and stop giving the confusion that has led to that the rock in Colombia is a genre that is in danger of disappearing in the hands of concepts that have been molded by means of communication and artists Powerful media in the public and do not belong to any of its currents but have claimed the name of the genre as its own.
