Resumen
This document contains the description of the Safety Instrumented System Design of a Debutanizer System. Based on the safety requirements of the plant provided by the LOPA Analysis of this, the approach of the Safety Instrumented Functions in charge of mitigating the identified risks is carried out. In order to determine the parameters influencing the safety performance and reliability of the system, the planning and evaluation of experiments is carried out in which the redundancy architectures of the sensor elements and final elements are varied. Those experiments are carried out in the ExSILentia software, which allows obtaining the results of SIL achieved, PFDavg and MTTFS. It is found that some redundancy architectures on the sensor element do not allow to meet the safety requirements for the system and, furthermore, that the type of final element is a determining factor for the proper selection of the redundancy architecture on the sensor element.
