Resumen
Visual pollution is a problem that has become widespread due to the expansion of cities and the businesses that are part of it, as part of the mechanisms that these businesses use to make themselves known among the population. The use of advertising, mixed with the need to use it by multiple commercial entities at a time when the economy exacerbates competition, causes its volume to increase, aggravating its misuse and the proliferation of illegal advertisements (UNAL, 2012), flooding public roads with advertisements and images, which can cause inconvenience and affect pedestrians who must be exposed to them to travel through the city, leading to effects such as: stress, headache and dangerous distractions (Fuentes, Argüello, 2015), due to the presence of movement in some advertisements, colors that are too bright, and messages that can elicit negative responses from those who observe them. For this reason, measures must be taken to regulate the volume with which advertisements are presented on public roads, carrying out procedures that have the purpose of determining which are the most pertinent measures to keep advertising excesses at bay, taking into consideration, at the same time, those factors that in the eyes of the population exacerbate the problem. The objective of this internship was to develop the diagnosis of visual pollution in the urban area of the municipality of Facatativá, as part of the Correct Facatativá Development Plan 2020 - 2023. Due to the fact that the extension of the territory is extremely wide, the urban area was divided into three zones, based on the plan of functional areas, established in decree 125 of 2018. In this work, the functional areas of the Urban Center and Periphery were taken, making a review for each street in search of possible visual contamination, keeping a record with the details found of date, time and place. From this evaluation, basic guidelines were generated to mitigate the visual impact of the urban area of the municipality, considering at the same time the functional areas whose visual contamination was the most urgent to mitigate.
