Resumen
This degree work is based on the investigation, analysis and interpretation of specific rhythmic variables of Hip-Hop that contribute to the creation of a piece for drums and DJ. In the first chapter, Hip-Hop is contextualized from its beginnings to the moment when Hip Hop is affected for other influences such as Jazz. This investigation will focus on variations of the beat within Hip-Hop. The second chapter deals with the interpretative analysis of three drummers: Mark Colenburg, Adam Deitch and Jacobo Alvarez who focused their percussive style enriching this urban genre. The third chapter describes the compositional process of the piece. For socialization, it is intended to interpret this piece as a Dj - drum duet, where the sounds and sensations produced by hip-hop and broken beat can be exposed.
