Resumen
This project aims to improve the communication skills of students when expressing themselves in the foreign language. The objective of this project was to understand if the implementation of digital narratives contributes to meaningful learning in the communicative competence of a foreign language. Additionally, taking into account the technological tools available to students, there is also an interest in taking advantage of the available resources to enrich the teaching and learning processes. Likewise, propose different scenarios that allow to show characteristics of learning in communicative competence. In the diagnostic stage, students had difficulties expressing their ideas in the foreign language because they were mainly concerned with using correct grammatical structures, forgetting that communication is one of the main objectives when learning a foreign language. For this reason, a pedagogical intervention was proposed that would allow students to enhance their communicative competence in English, taking advantage of the different tools and technological resources. To this end, an AVA virtual learning environment was designed whose content focused on the creation of digital narratives through the exploration of different content, activities, resources and tools. The results obtained were favorable and it was possible to conclude that digital narratives were useful to promote the oral communicative competence of students in aspects such as varied use of vocabulary, pronunciation, organization and presentation of ideas, fluency and naturalness when speaking. Additionally, digital narratives allowed students to find a new way to express themselves and take advantage of the technological resources and tools available.
