Flora de Caño Cristales, La Macarena – Meta (Colombia)

Abstract

The characterization of the flora present in Caño Cristales and its adjacent areas in the jurisdiction of CORMACARENA (Meta) was performed, from 4 field visits where fertile plant material was collected and a detailed photographic record of all the species found was carried out. The plant material was identified in the Herbario Forestal (UDBC) and as final product is given the publication titled “Flora de caño cristales, la Macarena – Meta (Colombia)”, where the most representative species of vegetal cover are present. Each species has a record that has the scientific name, botanical family and a detailed photographic record of 3 to 5 photographs, additionally, shows the general characteristics of each species, along with a QR code that link to detailed information on vegetative characteristics, reproductive, species distribution, ecological aspects and uses if known (information hosted on the website http://canocristalesmc.wix.com/canocristalesmc). In this way, part of the immense natural heritage of the southern sector of the Serranía de la Macarena is made known.
