Resumen
Taking into account the reduced repertoire of the solo marimba and its scarce presence in the teaching of percussion courses, this work makes a historical review of the marimba addressing its historical, technical, musical and repertoire aspects. Additionally, an analysis is made of the characteristics of the musical genres taken into account, and finally, a proposal of works for marimba solo, based on some genres of Colombian Andean music (pasillo, bambuco and waltz), with which it is intended to expand the musical repertoire used in the percussion course. The proposal considers some technical elements of the musical language that will allow placing the selected works in three levels: Basic Intermediate, Intermediate and Advanced. These works will be presented in a concert and analyzed musically.
