Resumen
Understanding sexuality as an unfinished process throughout life and as a constituent element of the human being that passes through the way in which, it relates to itself and others, implies recognizing the role play by institutions such as family, school , the peer group and the media as socializing agents of values and practices that determine ways of thinking, feeling and acting, as well as in the socialization of power structures and relationships that lead to the reproduction of domination and subordination in dimensions such as gender. In this sense, the school as an agent of socialization appears as a place where one can advocate the construction of political subjects who face these unequal structures, just as sex education with a gender perspective appears as an option to overcome medical-biological and religious-moralists visions from whom sexuality has been worked in school and who have been in charge of reproducing these structures. What is presented below is the result of a research and pedagogical intervention about the social representations of sexuality of a group of adolescent students from a private, Catholic institution and in transition from female to mixed, in relation to their socialization processes, to their positioning as political subjects and to the relevance of implementing sexual education with a gender perspective in school.
