Resumen
The premise of the project is the high level of risks presented by contractors, maintenance personnel and operators of Pavco Wavin (Extrusion Plant) when intervening and inspecting a machine, equipment and process. Therefore, the project is based on defining, analyzing, standardizing and implementing control systems in order to obtain a preventive tool for the management of various sources of hazardous energies existing in equipment, systems, facilities and operational processes.
Improved and standardized control systems (LOTO) are a way to prevent operational risks caused by maintenance personnel, operators and contractors accidentally and erroneously.
From the analysis of each machine present in the industrial process of Pavco Wavin's Extrusion Plant, it will be possible to define the sources of hazardous energies, document them and create a schedule for modification and implementation of the control systems; obtaining as a final result the safe performance of inspection and intervention activities, guaranteeing the control of hazardous and/or residual energies that put people at risk.
The scope of the implementation of the control systems will become a mandatory procedure and a source of knowledge for the operating, maintenance and contractor personnel, since, by means of an equipment safety sheet, it will allow easy identification of the energy sources present, where they are located, how to block, when to block, what devices to use and how to verify the effective blocking.
