Resumen
This project proposes the creation of a videodance piece that merges sensual bachata and contemporary dance. Through a creative laboratory based on improvisation, the authors explore their personal experiences as women and dancers, aiming to shed light on the emotional tensions that arise from trying to meet imposed standards. The project emerges from a critical reflection on the stereotypes that have historically shaped the image of women in dance, particularly in genres like bachata. Inspired by feminist thinkers, it offers a different perspective on sensuality—not as something performed for others, but as an internal force of self-affirmation. From this viewpoint, the body ceases to be an object and instead becomes a site of experience, desire, and agency. The process unfolds in three stages: pre-production, production, and post-production. Each phase is enriched by methodological tools such as journals, surveys, theoretical references, and autobiographical exercises that allow for a reflective construction of both bodily and visual discourse. The videodance becomes a space for experimentation, where the camera not only documents but also co-creates the movement, proposing new ways of narrating through the body. Inmodulada thus becomes a project that seeks to reframe the idea of the sensual woman through authenticity, freedom, and an intimate connection with the body, recognizing the power of inhabiting ourselves without seeking external validation.
