Análisis de la aplicación de las medidas ambientales en el marco de la licencia ambiental del Proyecto Hidroeléctrico Ituango y su relación con el incidente en el año 2018

Abstract

In 2018 there was a contingency in the Ituango Hydroelectric Plant given that an internal erosion was generated which caused the collapse of the roof, an obstruction and an uncontrolled rise in the water level of the reservoir, so it was decided to flood the powerhouse which caused a loss of about 400. This decision was taken in order to avoid an avalanche of water on the communities downstream. After this emergency, about 18 municipalities and 9,000 people in the departments of Antioquia, Sucre, Córdoba and Bolívar were evacuated. Therefore, this work seeks to analyze the application of environmental measures of the Ituango Hydroelectric Project in its construction stage and in the 2018 emergency, since this project is nowadays considered one of the most important in the Colombian energy sector, since it will generate approximately 17% of the country's energy demand.
