Resumen
The purpose of this work is to create two arrangements of traditional music from the Nasa people composed by two musicians from the Chicha and Guarapo flute band, adapted to the saxophone quartet format. In it, it is intended to make a contextual, theoretical and interpretative contribution that is presented as a contribution to traditional music performed on instruments other than the characteristic ones. In a commemorative way and through ancestral knowledge, it approaches the indigenous cultural practices of the interior of the country, thus achieving the extension of the traditional repertoire in relatively modern instruments such as the saxophone that have not had as much research in this Colombian music. The transcription and adaptation of these arrangements develops empirical and oral tradition elements where cultural practices are recreated that reflect the learning and knowledge of traditional music, different from those taught and practiced in the academy. Likewise, the musical culture developed by these people and their ancestral practices allows an approach to new creative and investigative intentions that create a communication link between the academy and the territory.
