Abstract

Colombia, on account of its geographic location in the equatorial tropical region, has a development potential in hydric resources, therefore, it is of vital importance the particular study of said resource. This degree work intends to realize a study of Flood Routing by the Muskingum Method, with the development of a Computing Application on Visual Basic, in the Fonce River, Santander department, as a solution to the appropriate discovery of a phenomenon within the hydrological cycle termed flooding, which is the cause of various problems in the civil population, economic activity, and the environment. The result of this study will give quick access tools for decision making in the mitigation, prevention, and solution of problems presented by flooding in the Fonce River.
