Resumen
The metalworking industry in Colombia is an industry in growth and positioning and as a result of this it has been prospering as the market has requested, however, in light of a measurement model, not much is known. For this reason, it has been tried in the elaboration of this academic work of bibliographic revision and of application, to establish the level of the degree of maturity in the execution of a typical project of an SME dedicated to the constructions in metallic structure, with 14 years of experience. in the field and with participation in important projects within the country. For this, a bibliographic review has been carried out addressing the problem, that is, reviewing national and international references in which the level of the degree of maturity in project management in companies dedicated to construction with metallic structures has been measured. Also, said bibliographical review has responded to the specific objectives of this work, with respect to the comparison of models to conclude about the level of the degree of maturity of the developed projects or organizations, and in this way, three models could be compared ( OPM3, ISO 21500 and C3PM), establishing the most suitable for its application and development. In this case study, the OPM3 methodology was selected, since it is the most complete and one of the most widely adopted for the same purpose. Having made the comparison and having chosen the model, a survey was developed with 121 questions based on the strategic organizers and the good practices recommended by OPM3. Said survey (self-assessment) was applied to positions of influence within the company (they are described later in the presented organization chart), so that said self-assessment of the processes established the level of the degree of maturity in the development of a project. type of company, which was not very encouraging, because it presented a medium level of standardization, measurement, control and implementation of improvements, but with the great opportunity to recognize the recommendations resulting from this work and the opportunities for improvement during the life cycle o Project development, in each group of processes and in each one of the knowledge areas, to standardize procedures, measure them, control them and continue in the process of continuous improvement (SMCI).
