Resumen
The text reflects on violence as a constant phenomenon in human life, present through observation and interaction with the world. It highlights how violence manifests itself both collectively and individually, linked to dissatisfaction, frustration, and destructive tendencies in human beings. Reference is made to Colombia, following Jorge Gaitán Durán's analysis, where violence arises from social conditions that generate anguish, lack of opportunity, and the desire for dominance through fear and humiliation. The human body is presented as a symbolic vehicle for representing violence: fragmented, mutilated, and transient, reflecting the consequences of war and destructive forces. René Descartes and José Miguel Cortés are cited to emphasize corporeality and mutilation as cultural and social codes that express suffering, alienation, and control. Finally, the relationship between power and violence is analyzed based on Michel Foucault, pointing out that power is produced and manifested everywhere, structuring reality and dominating bodies through physical and symbolic coercion. The image of the body thus becomes the central axis for understanding the dynamics of violence, power, and control in society.
