Resumen
The porphyry and / or epithermal gold ore deposits in Colombia are located mainly in the Andean region. In the department of Tolima, these deposit types are frequently presented, as well as some alluvial types, which indicate the possibility of discovering new deposits below the surface. To determine and identify prospective zones, multicriteria analysis was used in the evaluation of geological, structural, satellite and geophysical information, applying the multi-class index overlay methodologies and hierarchical analytical process (AHP). A map of prospective zones was generated as a result of the evaluation and weighting of the geological model and the geophysical anomalies. To prove that these results were coherent and applicable to other deposits, these were compared with the deposits, occurrences and deposits collected by the SGC, obtaining proven prospective zones. Based on the foregoing, seven (7) new prospective zones were proposed. As it was obteined satisfactory results, it is proposed to use the multicriteria analysis methodologies and GIS tools to make decisions regarding the probability or not of occurrence of a mineral deposit.
