Construcción de un prototipo de herramienta web para la gestión de los servicios ofrecidos en la nube privada del proyecto curricular de Ingeniería de Sistemas de la Universidad Distrital

Abstract

Since 2013, the Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas, started using virtual machines (VM) running multiple Linux OSes as an alternative to physical personal computers (PCs) due to space and resources limitations. These VM are managed over a SSH connection by a sysadmin-teacher and some academic monitors using bash scripts. As the demand for these VM is growing, the time and effort to manage them is also rising. Because of this, the development of a web app prototype that makes VMs management easier is proposed, this app will use Web2py and Ansible. This document details the developing and testing process of the app, it includes options to manage users, packages and repositories, services, firewall ports, crontab tasks, files upload and VNC configuration, tested in a LAN network inside the university.
