Resumen
This research arises from an internship at the Empresa de Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Bogotá (EAAB ESP) and proposes the design of Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) to improve water quality in the Córdoba wetland, specifically in the Molinos canal, its main tributary. Using a holistic and integrative approach, a diagnosis was made based on bibliographic information and physicochemical analysis of the water, identifying fats, oils, heavy metals and suspended solids as the main pollutants, largely from Incorrect sewage connections and uncontrolled discharges. Based on a comparative analysis between NbS and conventional water treatment technologies, it is determined that NbS are a more sustainable, less invasive alternative with additional benefits for the resilience of the ecosystem and the community. As a result, the installation of 64 floating wetlands in the Molinos canal was designed, arranged in a diamond shape in the center of the canal, which will contribute to the reduction of pollutants before they enter the wetland. This proposal seeks not only to improve water quality, but also to harmonize with the natural dynamics of the ecosystem and strengthen wetland conservation.
