Diseño de un sistema de indicadores para evaluar la eficiencia de los procesos de apoyo hospitalario

Abstract

In the provision of health services, the objective is to improve the quality of care against cost reduction, so that the way in which it deals with hospital support services have a direct impact on the efficacy and efficiency of the different health organizations. This document contains a proposal of indicators for the measurement of efficiency in hospital support services, based on the solution to the main problems in health systems, and framed by a growing demand from the population. The measurement of the efficiency allows the design of strategies of distribution of expenses with the best available resources that prevent the care of the patient, optimized for a population that ages with limited resources. In order to achieve the proposed objectives, a systematic search was made in the literature of design work on the issue of efficiency in hospital support services, which identified 68 theoretical variables contrasted with a field work developed in the Hospital San José - Sociedad de Cirugía de Bogotá, which allowed the elaboration of the indicators proposal. Additionally, the characterization of the hospital support services object of study in the field work was carried out, through the interviews carried out with the main actors involved in each of these services.
