The properties of spider webs are highly valued and can have several applications. In order to understand and take advantage of these properties it becomes necessary to study and characterize its composition, Who, According to the previous studies, it has been described that they consist mainly of large fibrous proteins and some biomolecules that cover the threads and have complementary functions to those of the silk, But this is only possible by having the fibers in solution, so this prior process is essential. In addition the recognition of the components of spider webs of different species contributes to expand the perspective of the use of these biomaterials, their functions in the ecosystem and in the life of the spiders that make them. This project aims to characterize these components from spider webs already made by the species Leucauge acuminata, to solubilize them in different solvents and to use analytical methods such as SDS-PAGE and HPLC-ESI-MS electrophoresis in the separation and identification of analytes, especially Proteins.
