Resumen
The present investigation called "Dialogue of knowledge about the use of medicinal plants, with eighth grade students, from the Ethnoeducational Center No 20 of Riohacha, La Guajira" was developed with the aim of understanding the knowledge about the use of medicinal plants at the school level , from the teaching of natural sciences. The qualitative study, with an ethnographic approach, had the participation of 22 eighth grade students of basic secondary education, it included the investigation of the school environments (22 students and 5 teachers from the area of natural sciences); social and community (Sabedor and traditional Authority of the Wayuu community in the area of influence of the ethnoeducational center) and academic (university specialist on the subject of the use of medicinal plants of the Wayuu culture). For the analysis of the information, three instruments were used: semi-structured interview scripts, a field diary and classroom activities structured through a didactic sequence. The results made it possible to show that regarding the students' school knowledge, there is a very limited, almost non-existent, dialogue between the Wayuu cultural knowledge on the use of medicinal plants and the school scientific knowledge; aspect promoted later through the intervention proposal.
