| dc.description | La imagen presenta una noticia acerca de: " Con motivo de los temblores sucedidos en los años de 1826 y 1827, se desplomaron las paredes , y la mayor parte de los arcos de los claustros de este convento máximo de Santa fe de Bogotá, en términos que por la ruina que amenazaba todo el edificio fue necesario que los religiosos abandonaran el convento , y saliesen a vivir a las casa de los benefactores; y no teniendo limosnas para la refacción del mencionado edifico, se reunieron los prelados con la comunidad en consulta general, y en atención a las tristes y lamentables circunstancias en que se hallaban, determinaron vender las alhajas de oro y plata de la iglesia para refaccionar el convento, y que solo se exceptuara lo puramente necesario para la celebración de los divinos oficios. Las joyas y alhajas de oro y plata que había en la iglesia de la Recolección de San Diego de esta cuidad, también se consumieron por las mismas razones, y por la penuria y escasez de los tiempos, con arreglo a la consulta que se hizo en el año de 1827 según, y como cónsul del respectivo libro, y en los de recibo y gasto que existen en los archivos de los referidos conventos; siendo de advertir que algunas alhajas se vendieron por sus avalúos a varios particulares , y otras se beneficiaron en la casa de la moneda de esta capital". | dc.description.abstract | The image presents a news about: "Due to the tremors that occurred in the years of 1826 and 1827, the walls collapsed , and most of the arches of the cloisters of this maximum convent of Santa Fe de Bogotá, in terms that because of the ruin that threatened the whole building it was necessary for the religious to leave the convent and go out to live in the homes of the benefactors; and not having alms for the renovation of the building, the prelates met with the community in general consultation, and in response to the sad and regrettable circumstances in which they found themselves, they decided to sell the gold and silver jewelry of the church to renovate the convent, and that only the purely necessary for the celebration of the divine offices be excepted.
