Resumen
This thesis is derived from the analysis and evaluation of the fieldwork conducted in the project titled Tele-rehabilitation model Based on the Tele-broadcasting of Audiovisual Content as a Strategy for Strengthening the Comprehensive Recovery of Patients in Rural Areas of the Municipality of San Vicente del Caguán. The project was developed under the framework of the contingent recovery financing contract No. 80740-033-2022, signed between the Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas and the National Fund for the Financing of Science, Technology, and Innovation.
Its main purpose is the implementation of a tele-rehabilitation model aimed at overcoming barriers to accessing rehabilitation services in a region with geographical limitations and deficient infrastructure, with the goal of improving patients' quality of life. Throughout the study, multiple instruments were used to assess the technical, clinical, and social impact of the tele-rehabilitation model. These instruments provided a comprehensive view of the system's performance, user acceptance, and benefits in patients' quality of life.
The results showed significant improvements in accessibility to rehabilitation services, reduced waiting times, and increased efficiency of medical staff, confirming the effectiveness of the proposed model in overcoming traditional barriers to rural healthcare. The evaluation highlights the importance of adhering to technical and regulatory standards to ensure the model's effectiveness, sustainability, and scalability.
This project contributes to strengthening telehealth in Colombia, positioning tele-rehabilitation as a key tool to reduce inequalities in access to healthcare services in vulnerable communities.
