Infancias, abuelazgo y saberes

Abstract

The present academic work was conducted under the heading of the research of language, discourse and knowledge of the Master's Degree in Childhood and Culture, at Francisco José de Caldas District University. A narrative analysis of children’s stories from the ages of six to nine years old was carried out, with the goal of learning more about the understandings contained in the bond that is present between children and their grandparents. If we look at the family as the primary context of socialization we notice that culture is passed down intergenerationally, it is in these intimate relationships where children interact and appropriate knowledge as well as customs. Grandparenting is the bond that is formed between grandparents and grandchildren, taking a closer look at said relationships allows us to redefine our understanding of the way knowledge in childhood is obtained.
