Resumen
The characterization of the population is essential since it allows identifying its characteristics and skills, with which training and training programs can be developed for themselves that seek to improve their teaching performance, as well as their quality of life. For this reason, an investigative work is carried out from the realization of the teaching characterization focused on the community of the Technological Faculty of the District University. The investigative work is carried out in three phases which begin with the identification of methodologies for the development of the characterization of populations in charge of searching for characteristics and keywords that can describe the teaching population, followed by the identification of the key variables based on the analysis. of the results of the first phase; Finally, there is the application of an information collection instrument which is a survey developed for the teaching population of the Technological Faculty of the District University, whose results were analyzed by making a descriptive statistical analysis and an analysis of the relationship of variables according to the reviewed bibliography. The work is carried out with the purpose of improving the services of the Institutional Welfare Office aimed at the teachers of the aforementioned faculty, in search of quality of life and teaching quality for the educational improvement of the District University. The research shows that teachers are characterized by their high academic level and their desire to continue advancing in their studies. It is also found that they have a highly demanding job which can cause difficulties in terms of physical and mental health such as work stress, also relating this to lack of sleep and low job satisfaction
